Cape Town, 10 December 2009: Wendy Dammert and Natalie Burns have been awarded Sales Co-ordinator of the Year and Sales Executive of the Year respectively at the 2009 Protea Hotels Annual Sales Awards that were held at Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa.
The Sales Co-Ordinator of the Year Award was given to Wendy who has excelled in organizing and assisting the Sales Executives and is the backbone of the sales system. Wendy joined Protea Hotels in 2006 as a Group & Conference Sales Co-ordinator.
“Wendy’s attention to detail is remarkable in everything she does and she is a true professional when dealing with her clients and peers,” said Arthur Gillis, CEO, Protea Hotels, “She is passionate about closing the deal and ensures every enquiry turns into a booking into Protea Hotels by going the extra mile; she understands the bigger picture of Protea Hotels' success”
The Sales Executive of the Year award went to Natalie who utilized her interaction, sales and negotiation skills to achieve maximum results. Natalie is respected by colleagues, clients and General Managers for her professionalism and leadership.
“Natalie is efficient, exceptionally competent, hardworking and is a team player who is well liked and respected by colleagues and clients alike,” continued Gillis, “She is a multi-tasker, a time manager and is eager to learn new things, acquiring new clients and following procedures in order to realize her ability and vision of being the best she can be at all times.
The Awards ceremony marked the 25th anniversary of Africa’s largest hotel group that has survived 5 recessions and is still number one in the eyes of consumers, largely thanks to the 70-strong sales team, which is one of the largest hospitality sales forces on the continent.
