The Lighthouse Breakfast Restaurant and Bar is situated on the 2nd floor of the 3-Star Hotel offering delicious breakfasts. The restaurant seats 100 GUESTS and is open from 06:30 to 10:30 and the bar is open from 14:00 to 22:00.

Conference facilities

The state-of-the-art conference centre is situated on the 9th floor of the 3-Star Protea Hotel Umhlanga and overlooks the Umhlanga coastline. The conference centre can seat up to 180 delegates in cinema style, while breakaway rooms and a Boardroom are also available for smaller, informal get-togethers.

Sports and recreation

The 3-Star Hotel is conveniently situated for most sporting facilities. It is a stone's throw away from the Umhlanga Country Club with tennis and bowls facilities and the Ski Boat Club offers deep-sea fishing trips on request. 1. Umhlanga Rocks forms part of the famous Sugar Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. The name ‘Umhlanga’ means ‘Place of Reeds’ and the area is one of South Africa's prime upmarket holiday destinations situated just north of Durban.
2. The area is well known for its landmark lighthouse, golden beaches, beautiful parks and a selective variety of accommodation and delicious cuisine.
