Acquired by the Barrow family in 2005, The Andros, a five star hotel, has undergone an impressive restoration into one of Cape Town's most elegant grande dames. A warm, friendly welcome awaits new and returning GUESTS to this gracious Cape Dutch, Herbert Baker-designed homestead, dating from the early 1900's and set in over an acre of park-like gardens. In the heart of Claremont, one of Cape Town's beautiful Southern Suburbs, The Andros is close to Kirstenbosch, Constantia Winelands and only 10 minutes from the city.

This five star hotel is furnished in elegant and traditional style, complementing the original features of this beautiful and graceful residence. Enjoy Alfresco meals on the terrace in summer, or gourmet breakfasts, light lunches and delicious dinners in the new restaurant, DINE.

The Manor House boasts four tranquil, luxury rooms, each stylishly furnished with either garden or mountain views. Set in the gardens are eight new, spacious, luxury bedrooms, each with a separate entrance and patio and an Executive Suite with its own pool.

The Andros' leafy gardens and personal charm also offer an elegant ambience for weddings, exclusive corporate and private functions.

Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, The Andros Country House is a stones throw from Cavendish Square's exclusive shopping centre, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and the Constantia wine farms.

Directions from Cape Town International Airport

1. Take the N2 toward the City
2. When close to the mountain, take the M3 exit on the left towards Muizenberg
3. Stay on the M3 and take Exit 10 towards Claremont (Paradise Road)
4. Take offramp to the left, just after Shell petrol station
5. At the traffic circle, drive around and take the second turn off, into Newlands Road
6. Pass two traffic lights and you will see The Andros on your right hand side after 200m.
7. Turn right into Phyllis Road. The Andros Country House is the first entrance on the left

The Andros Country House offers 13 individually and elegantly furnished rooms, complete with soft linens, fresh flowers and fruit trays, TV, fridge and private patios with stunning mountain views.

Wining and dining facilities at The Andros Country House include a dining room, providing the perfect setting for a quite meal after a hectic day out at the one of Cape Town's many attractions, with a variety of 3 course meals freshly prepared each day.

Should you prefer al fresco dining, the patio is perfect for breakfast on warm summer days, with a breakfast buffet offering tropical fruits, a full continental breakfast, as well as a cooked English breakfast. Lunch is also available, be it on the terrace or at the pool, as are morning and afternoon teas. Pre-dinner drinks and sundowners are available on the terrace, with full bar service 24 hours a day.

Leisure facilities include a beautifully secluded pool, with plenty of shade from the mature trees surrounding it, or spoiling yourself with a treatment or a workout in the new Spa Wellness Centre with fully equipped gym and sauna, this idyllic setting is the perfect venue for any occasion.

A "borrow and replace" library is available, with books in several languages - if you forget to bring a good book, we're bound to have a book to match your mood while the large terrace provides the ideal spot to enjoy a quiet drink in the late afternoon or enjoy a lovely meal outside in the evenings with family or friends.

'Dine' at the Andros is an intimate 34-seater restaurant offering a romantic and elegant dining experience.

An entrance filled with flickering candles sets the mood, whilst marble floors and a selection of South African Art give the restaurant an understated elegance.

The menus from Chef Nicolene Barrow focus on country cuisine with a French influence and change regularly to reflect the seasons.  Well-sourced ingredients provide an exciting, sumptuous a la carte menu to suit all tastes and is complimented by an excellent wine list.
