Protea Hotels has launched a campaign to help raise both awareness and funds for Reach for a Dream. Utilising the retail potential of the company’s wide hotel footprint throughout South Africa, the Protea Hospitality Group is selling fluffy Lions in a Tin for R100. All proceeds from the sale of the Lion in a Tin fluffy toys go directly towards realising the dreams of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. Key to their social investment and philanthropic giving, Protea Hotels helps Reach for a Dream make dreams come true for sick children and their families by providing accommodation and meals. This is not done without a team behind the scenes making it happen. Protea Hotels has mobilised their regional offices and hotel staff, getting them inspired and personally involved in the initiative. Protea Hotels has also opened its doors to the organisation and provides them with sponsored breakfasts, dinners and venues for their board meetings and will play host to one of their gala dinners to be held on 10 September 2010 at Protea Hotel Midrand. “Because we have approximately 80 hotels in South Africa, there are 80 outlets to sell the Lions in a Tin and that’s a good spread. There is no profit attached to these sales; every cent goes to Reach for a Dream because it is an organisation very close to our hearts. The hotel footprint also puts us in a position to help more children realise their dreams because if they need to travel, chances are exceptionally good that there’ll be a Protea Hotel somewhere nearby,” said Danny Bryer, Protea Hospitality Group’s director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue. “We are honoured to play our part in helping Reach for a Dream.” Earlier this year the hotel group, in partnership with Bidvest, sponsored a Toyota Quantum to the organisation to help them fulfil the dreams of the children. -ends- Related Links: |
