Protea Hotel The Park is situated within the magnificent Waterberg Mountains in the Limpopo Province.  Only a 2 hour and 30 minute drive north of Johannesburg along the N1. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Makopane and is an ideal getaway or overnight stay, for travellers en route from Johannesburg to Botswana, Zimbabwe or the Kruger National Park. GUESTS can relax and revel in the great natural beauty of the Limpopo province, with its rich wildlife and heritage that Mokopane has to offer.

3 Star accommodation offering 100 spacious and comfortable en suite rooms, with every modern convenience that can be expected. In addition The Park has recently built 25 self-catering units fully equipped with kitchenettes, making them ideal for long stay guests. Along with 18 newly refurbished deluxe rooms.

GUESTS and residents of the hotel and in Mokopane can enjoy dining at the Terrace restaurant. The restaurant seats 240 people, allowing for inside and outside dining, it also includes a fully equipped bar and buffet style and service area. Set in a comfortable, modern and relaxed atmosphere.  The Terrace also offers an à la Carte menu should visitors wish for an alternative dining experience. 

Conference facilities are available for up to 400 delegates, accompanied by secure parking facilities.

A total of 8 venues can accommodate up to 400 delegates. The Platinum Business Centre, comprises of 3 venues, each accommodating 15 delegates and equipped with modem points, DSTV for video conferencing and pull-down screens. Location

In the heart of the Limpopo Province, about 2 hours and 30 minutes drive north of Johannesburg, 60km from Polokwane, 2 hours from the Zimbabwe border and 2 hours from the Botswana border.

DIRECTIONS

1. Follow N1 North from Gauteng.
2. At the fourth tollgate (Nyl Plaza), +/- 200 Km north of Pretoria. take the exit (extreme left) and follow for  Mokopane.
3. At the top of the off-ramp, turn left onto N11.
4. After 1.5kms, turn right at the T-Junction, onto the R101. This road continues through the town and becomes Thabo Mbeki Drive.
5. PROTEA HOTEL THE PARK is the last building in Mokopane, situated on the left hand side of Thabo Mbeki Drive (just  after the black train).
6. Turn left into Beitel street and you will see the Hotel entrance opposite the Caltex Garage.

We are 14kms from the Nyl tollgate.

Luxurious, spacious and comfortable accommodation comprises 125 rooms, of which 80 are double, 16 are inter-leading and 2 are suites.  25 Long stay units have been added, ideal for guests who need to extend their stays longer than average or on contracts in the area.  Along with 18 newly refurbished deluxe rooms.

The Terrace Restaurant & Bar

The Terrace restaurant offers GUESTS a pleasant dining experience and a menu that has been carefully selected by our food and beverage team.  The menu leans towards the traditional South African flavours, and includes some of the best mouth watering tender beef cuts in the north. The restaurant seats 240 GUESTS and offers the option of either buffet or à la Carte dining. 

The Terrace restaurant is open from early morning to late in the evenings, times as follows: 
Breakfast from 06H00 - 10H00am
Lunch from 12H00 – 14H30pm
Dinner from 06H30 – 22H30pm
