The Hotel

Remodelled to create an atmosphere of space and light, this hotel occupies a magnificent waterfront position only 80 minutes' drive from Cape Town. Protea Hotels Saldanha Bay offers excellent accommodation with a choice of standard rooms or one of our two suites; a first class restaurant, attractive lounge and cocktail bar where drinks are served to GUESTS as they relax watching the seagulls glide by.  The hotel also has a games room, a pool, table tennis, darts  and kids play area available to all GUESTS.

The hotel has its own slipway and jetty and the bay is a haven for fishing and watersport enthusiasts. Features

The Musselcracker Restaurant has seating for up to 105 people and overlooks the bay. They serve a la carte meals, occasionally buffet dinners and daily Chef Specials on request.

Sporting Facilities
The hotel has a beautiful pool as well as a volleyball court. Canoes, windsurfing, water-skiing trips, sailing, rubberduck trips, diving, hiking trails, sundowner boat cruises, parasailing, deep-sea fishing, golf and horseriding can all be arranged on request at a minimal charge.

Conference & Banqueting Facilities
The hotel has four conference rooms, all equipped with airconditioning and standard conferencing equipment. If there should be any other item of equipment required by the delegates, the hotel can supply such equipment by prior arrangement and at an additional cost.

Teambuilding:
Protea Hotel Saldanha Bay is the only hotel in the Western Cape offering teambuilding as part of their fully inclusive conference packages.
Corporate Games teambuilding’s programmes can be added to add an element of fun, as well as a memorable experience to the occasion/conference.  Lasting half a day of three full days, our teambuilding programmes are made up of a number of simple, yet fun, adult recreational games and exercises.  Games are based on both physical and mental challenges – enabling each delegate to make use of their unique talents within their group.  All teambuilding is led by trained members of STAFF, each certificated as Teambuilding Facilitators.

Location

Situated in the waterfront approximately 25 km from Langebaan and 140 km from Cape Town International Airport.

Directions from Cape Town Airport to Protea Hotel Saldanha Bay

- Take the N2 towards Paarl/Malmesbury
- Take the N7 turnoff towards Malmesbury
- After +-19Km until you reach the Melkbosstrand turn off – turn left
- Continue until you reach the 4 way traffic crossing - (Cape Town – left:  Melkbosstrand – Straight: Veldrif – Right)
- Turn right onto the R27 towards Veldrif/Saldanha/Vredenburg.
- Continue for +- 115km, until you reach the Saldanha turn off – turn left.
- Continue for +- 20km; you will get to a T-Junction. (Vredenburg right; Saldanha left)
- Turn left towards Saldanha Bay and continue for +- 5km.
- This road will lead you straight into the town.
- Cross the first set of traffic lights (BP-petrol station on the left hand side)
- Turn left at the 4 way stop.  (Friendly grocer will be on your right hand side)
- At the T-junction, turn right into the Main Road.
- Continue until you reach the Protea Hotel Saldanha Bay on your left after +- 200m

Attractions

The hotel has its own slipway and floating jetty from where GUESTS can launch their boats. A Putt-Putt course is also available on the premises.

Saldanha Bay is a haven for fishing and watersport enthusiasts. The West Coast is dotted with quaint fishing villages, abundant bird life. It is also world-famous for its wild flowers that bloom between July and September. The seafood route and the magnificent Langebaan lagoon are also in the area.

For the children, entertainment in the form of table tennis and a variety of board games, can be obtained from reception.

Within a short 30 minute drive, you will find the following list of activities:

The Protea Hotel Saldanha Bay is situated on the waterfront approximately 25km from Langebaan and 140 km from Cape Town International Airport. 

Accommodation is luxurious and spacious, comprising 58 bedrooms, all but four of which have sea-facing views; the others mountain-facing. All rooms have a private bathroom, remote controlled television (with M-Net / Satellite Channels), telephone and hairdryer.
