Port Elizabeth’s iconic Protea Hotel Marine, situated on the city’s spectacular beachfront, is currently undergoing a refurbishment to enhance its unrivalled service offering in the area. Over the course of the next few months Protea Hotel Marine will undergo an extensive refurbishment. The new look and feel of the 114 roomed hotel will offer holidaymakers, families and business travellers modern and luxurious accommodation in a range of comfortable en-suite rooms that boast spectacular sea views. “For Protea Hotels to maintain its high standards that GUESTS have become accustomed to at the hotel, we believe in continual investment in our properties,” says Danny Bryer, Group Sales and Marketing Director for Protea Hospitality Group. At a cost of R28 million to the Protea Hotel Marine’s owners, the Hospitality Property Fund, the hotel will undergo a redesign and development of its rooms, public spaces and exterior in a phased approach, which has started with the conversion of the 7th floor Sky-roof Function venue to include an additional 15 en-suite rooms. The construction and redesign of the hotel will take place during the week, between 08h00 and 17h00 and will be completed by the second week of December. “We apologise for any inconvenience that will be caused as a result of the refurbishment,” says Danie Smit, General Manager at Protea Hotel Marine. “Throughout the process, we will continue to provide the same level of quality and service that our GUESTS have come to expect.” Protea Hotel Marine is only 7km from the Port Elizabeth airport and is within walking distance of pristine beaches, side walk cafes and the renowned Oceanarium. - ends- |
