Protea Hotel Landmark Polokwane is easily accessible by slipping through the Shell Ultra City on the N1 Highway when approaching from Gauteng.

From Polokwane, take the R101 on the old Mokopane (Potgietersrus) road and turn right shortly before reaching the Shell Ultra City, between the white gables where our signage is clearly marked with the Protea Hotel Landmark logo; this will take you over a narrow bridge which crosses the N1 highway. Stay on the tarred road which makes a 90 degree turn to the left and you will reach the hotel which is approximately 1 kilometre down the road.

Attractions

1. Visitors to Mokopan Valley, Waterberg should not miss the opportunity to visit Makapan's Caves where extensive cultural and palaeontological deposits have played a crucial role in furthering our understanding of later human evolution and the appearance of modern man.  The distance from the hotel to the Makapan’s Caves  is approximately 57km
2. Situated about 9 kilometers outside Polokwane, the capital city of the Limpopo Province in South Africa, the Bakone Malapa Museum invites visitors to take a step back in time and explore a traditional Bakone tribal village as it existed about 250 years ago. This open-air living museum gives visitors the opportunity to gain insight into the background and history of the Bakone people who are a sub-group of the Northern Sotho tribe.
3. Debegeni Waterfalls - The name ‘Debegeni’ means 'place of the big pot', referring to the shape of the falls. This waterfall plummets down into a series of rock pools – the perfect place for a dip. There is a picnic site at the falls.
4. The Sunland ‘Big Baobab’ is in Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo Province, South Africa and is world renowned for being the widest of its species in the world. Africa is symbolised by these magnificent trees. The Sunland Big Baobab is carbon dated to be around 6000 years old. The Sunland Baobab has even made the front page of the Wall Street Journal!  When baobabs become a thousand years old, they begin to hollow inside. In the Big Baobab this has resulted in wonderful caverns and caves, where the world famous Baobab Tree Bar and Wine Cellar now amaze visitors.
5. The famous Kruger National Park is not too far away (208 Km).  The 'Sabie Game Reserve' , bordered by the Crocodile River in the south, the Sabie River in the north, the Lebombo Mountains in the east and the Drakensberg Mountains in the west, which is now the southern part of the Kruger National Park, was established in 1898. These reserves would eventually expand into today's Kruger National Park.  It offers Uncompromising luxury and style in the bush, Witness Africa's Big Five, Experience cultural lifestyle of the Tsonga people and Thrilling Safari Adventure.

Protea Hotel Landmark Polokwane has 80 bedrooms all individually air-conditioned, with deluxe bathrooms en suite and shower, 9 channel TV, touch-dial telephone, workdesk and tea/coffee making facilities.

Each of the 80 rooms has a spacious en-suite bathroom with overhead shower and is air-conditioned.  75 rooms are furnished with 2 queen-sized beds, and 5 rooms are deluxe rooms with with king-sized beds (one of these rooms is wheelchair accessible)All rooms are equipped with modem-friendly computer plugs for laptops. Standard twin rooms have 2 queen size beds only.
Non-smoking rooms are available. For disabled GUESTS, we have facilities including a ramp into the reception area and into the restaurant/bar area.

Every bedroom has its own allocated parking bay right outside the room. A same-day laundry service is available from Monday to Friday between 8am to 5pm.

Protea Hotel Landmark Polokwane is situated just 5km outside Polokwane which were one of the host cities for the 2010 World Cup event. Polokwane is however, one of the fastest growing cities in South Africa, so the distance is growing smaller every day.

We are situated 5 minuteas away from the Peter Mokaba Stadium where 5 of the soccer matches took  place for 2010 Soccer World Cup!

• The hotel is situated 5min away from the Polokwane CBD runs from Gauteng through Polokwane to Zimbabwe.  Our hotel is enclosed by electrical fencing and the guardhouse is manned by security guards 24 hours a day.  Over and above these precautions, the farming area in which the hotel finds itself is patrolled by a farm watch (a body of local farmers who volunteer their services) known as Elriet Security, probably making it the safest hotel to stay in Polokwane.

CLIMATE
Polokwane has a reputation for a mild African climate, beautiful blue skies and a spectacular view of the starts in the evening.  Polokwane is known for having the most beautiful sunsets all round the year.  It can be chilly in the mornings, but peak at 39ºC in the afternoon at the height of summer in December!

TRANSPORT
Polokwane is a modern city, but public transport is limited.
