1. Explore the experience that is the Kruger National Park by going on a walking trail with an expert guide, or a game drive in the wild. Night game drives can also be arranged. This luxury Lodge also offers guided bush tours with rangers within the Hotel's 100 ha private game reserve.
2. A birdwatchers' paradise, the 4-Star Protea Hotel Kruger Gate offers GUESTS opportunities to spot a variety of species on the doorstep, including waking at dawn to the cry of the fish eagle, while several hides allow for close-up viewing.
3. Other nearby attractions are made up by the "The Panorama Route". This route includes such natural wonders as the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Three Rondawels, Bourke's Luck Potholes and Wonder View. The nearby historic towns of Pilgrim's Rest and Graskop are also well worth a visit.
4. For a once in a lifetime golfing experience book a round at the Skukuza Golf Course which is actually set within the Kruger National Park so GUESTS need not venture far.

Protea Hotel Kruger Gate has 7, six-sleeper, fully equipped self catering chalets - ‘thatched havens’ located in the hotels’ private reserve.  Each chalet is fully serviced and has two luxury en suite bedrooms, one upper - loft bedroom, a spacious lounge area, DSTV, self-contained kitchen, and private outdoor braai area. 

The chalets are in close proximity to the hotel’s restaurants.  Bushveld dining offers a buffet style breakfast in the Kudyela Restaurant whilst an A la carte lunch is served on the hotel’s unique wooden sundeck.  Dine under diamond bright stars at the open air Lapa restaurant, and sample the sumptuous array of buffet dishes including potjies of fragrant delicacies.
