Directions from George Airport

1. On leaving airport, turn left towards the R102 highway
2. Follow the R102 until you get to a T-junction
3. Turn left into YORK STREET
4. At the second set of traffic lights (at Game Shopping Centre), turn left into PLATTNER BOULEVARD
5. Go over stop street and turn right into BARKHUIZEN DRIVE
6. Follow the signs to the Protea Hotel King George

The Fairway Terrace Restaurant & Patio seats 110 and the Rex Tavern, 80 GUESTS.

There are two swimming pools and a kiddies playground. The hotel also has a terrace overlooking the George golf course and the spectacular Outeniqua mountain range.

Three of the country's top hiking trails are in the area, namely the Otter trail, Tsitsikamma Trail and the Outeniqua hiking trail.

The spectacular Sedgefield lakes district, with its abundance of bird life and nature trails is nearby for nature lovers and the Outeniqua Choo-tjoe steam train, travelling between George and Knysna, is a popular attraction. George has the only National Steam Railway Museum in the country.

Other places of interest nearby include Victoria Bay, well known as one of the finest surfing venues in South Africa, also ideal for bathing. For the action junkies, one can enjoy Bunji jumping off the Gouritz River or the Storms River bridges.

The hotel has 109 rooms, of which deluxe rooms each have 2 double beds, separate bath, shower and toilet and 20 standard rooms have 2 double beds and en-suite bath and shower. All these rooms are pool facing.

The hotel is next to the Golf Course and we have 16 golf-course facing standard rooms and suites, each with separate lounge area. An additional suite is located within the main building

All rooms are equipped with satellite TV, hairdryers, telephones, radio alarm clocks, tea and coffee making facilities.
