Dining Room
The Oakwoods Restaurant is housed in a glass structure overlooking the Umzimbazi lagoon and the lush Natal vegetation surrounding it. Decor includes stylish granite tables covered in the finest table linen, while designer cane chairs complete the ensemble, forming the perfect setting for hearty buffet breakfasts, a la carte lunches and delicious buffet dinners.

Bar
There is also a well appointed bar, with outside terrace area overlooking the pool.

Conference and Banqueting Facilities
8 separate conferencing rooms can accommodate 2 to 150 delegates in a variety of venues - fom plain work areas to boardrooms overlooking the Indian Ocean to dinner dances and banquets for up to 180 GUESTS.

Sporting Facilities
There is a swimming pool,  as well as a smaller pool for kids, a sports centre, 2 squash courts, Mini Golf, pool tables, table tennis, a video arcade, saunas, play park, safe swimming at the beach and volleyball. Directions from Durban

1. From King Shaka International Airport, take the N2 south
2. Take exit 133 (Kingsburgh)
3. Turn left at stop street and proceed to traffic lights
4. Turn right, following the R102 in the Umkomaas direction
5. At next traffic lights, turn right onto the R102 (Old South Coast Road) and travel for 3,5 km
6. The Protea Hotels Karridene Beach turn-off is on the left

1. The Protea Hotel Karridene Beach and resort offers access to the longest untouched stretch of beach in Natal. The surrounding areas have an abundance of natural attractions that range from Crocodile farms to Game viewing
2. Well situated in the centre of eight of the regions best golf courses, a variety of golfing needs are accommodated - from hiring of clubs to golfing lessons
3. The famous Aliwal shoal offers some of the worlds' best shark diving and also boasts some of the best game fish species in the Indian Ocean. Even if you are not into diving, the facility does offer non-diving trips. Deep sea fishing, as well as surf fishing in the area, is of the highest quality and good catches are assured on the local charter boats
4. The Pavillion shopping centre is also situated within half an hours' drive from the hotel and, being the biggest shopping centre in KwaZulu Natal, offers some of the best shopping available.
