The Protea Hotel Kampala, which belongs to Africa’s largest hotel group Protea Hotels, has been named as Uganda’s Country Winner of the World Luxury Hotel Awards that were announced in Thailand over the weekend. “To be nominated along with some of the major names in the industry was indeed an honour on its own, but to walk away with a category win as a Luxury City Hotel is an achievement,” said Protea Hotels Uganda Operations Director Stuart Cook. Situated in the upmarket suburb of Kololo in Kampala, only 35km from Entebbe Airport, the Protea Hotel Kampala offers guests 4-star luxury and 5-star service in 59 luxurious rooms and 11 sumptuous suites, all en-suite and air-conditioned. The hotel also boasts an air-conditioned gymnasium and a 100-seater restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. For the corporate traveller, the Protea Hotel Kampala is also the perfect place to do business. The hotel’s facilities include an in-house business centre that is open 24 hours a day with complimentary internet facilities, four boardrooms seating 20 delegates and two conference venues seating from 75 to 300 delegates. Protea Hospitality Group’s Sales, Revenue and Marketing Director Danny Bryer congratulated Protea Hotel Kampala on the award. “We have hotels in eight African countries and it’s gratifying to see that no matter where you are on the continent, the facilities and service offering remain at a consistently high level.” -end- |
