Interesting Facts The provincial Administration founded the holiday resort (now hotel) and, on the 1st August 1966, the first buildings were erected. The holiday resort was named after the then M.E.C Mr. Rob Ferreira. In March 1983 it was transferred to Overvaal resorts, a statutory body. Overvaal was converted to a company on the 1st September 1993, Aventura Ltd. The name then was changed to Vaal Spa, and subsequently, again changed to Aventura Resort Christiana. On the 1st February 2001, the resort was the first Aventura Resort to privatize and was sold to Nkolo Developments, who immediately started upgrading the resort. The resort stayed under Protea Management and is now called Protea Hotels Christiana. Facilities
