The Hotel

Situated on a 3000ha game farm in spectacular mountains, between Mossel Bay and George, the children-friendly and malaria-free Protea Hotels Botlierskop Private Game Reserve offers a great diversity of wildlife and activities, as well as luxurious, tented accommodation in private suites along the river. Day activities at Botlierskop include luxury 4x4 game drives, rugged mountain terrain and informative nature walks through diverse habitats, as well as elephant back ride, picnic with the elephants, two hour horseback safaris and helicopter flips.

Each of the 15 luxury-tented suites at Botlierskop is elegantly decorated in a romantic colonial theme with 4-poster beds draped with mosquito nets. The en-suite bathrooms are lavishly equipped with deep baths, open-air showers and stunning views. The Fireplace restaurant provides GUESTS with authentic South African meals, whilst sundowners on the deck or in the lounge are ideal for general relaxation.

1. Take the N2 from Cape Town to George
2. Pass the following exit: Hartenbos (Exit 397)
3. Take the Klein Brakrivier / Little Brak River (Exit 401)
4. Turn Left at STOP street
5. After 500m, at T-junction: Follow our brown Botlierskop signboard with the lion footprint, from this point. Turn Right
6. 4km ahead: go over causeway, 200m after causeway, turn right at our brown Botlierskop signboard, onto the Gannakraal road
7. 4km on Gonnakraal road, see earthdam on right, turn right after earthdam at white pillar gate: Botlierskop

By Train
Take the train to George train station. Organise a pick up with Botlierskop or hire a car and follow directions:

1. Take the the N2 towards Mossel Bay
2. Pass the following exits:

Deluxe rooms: These deluxe tented suites with private wooden decks are situated on the river's edge with stunning views of the river and mountainous surroundings as well as a private jetty from which the guests can try their hand at fishing. Elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets. The rooms have their own private outdoor bush shower as well as an en-suite bathroom with a deep oval bath.

Executive Suites: These spacious executive en-suite rooms with separate large lounge area are elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets and on the river's edge, with the picturesque Outeniqua mountains as a backdrop. Fully equipped with mini bar, coffee & tea facilities, telephone, binoculars and a safe. The en-suite bathroom is lavishly equipped with deep baths and an outdoor bush shower.
