Protea Hospitality Group Clinches Further TripAdvisor Awards

Three African Pride Hotels and a Protea Hotel have been named among the best hotels by country in South Africa and Kenya in the prestigious annual TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards that are voted for by millions of global travellers.

The three South African hotels that made the Top 25 are all based in Cape Town and are:

  1. African Pride 15 on Orange Hotel #14,
  2. African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa #20,
  3. Protea Hotel North Wharf, Waterfront #21.

In Kenya, the Tribe Hotel in Nairobi, which features in the African Pride Hotels portfolio, was ranked ninth and seventh in the country, in the Top Hotels and Luxury Hotels category respectively.

Protea Hospitality Group CEO Arthur Gillis congratulated the hotels on their awards.

“It is a GUEST service ethos of always striving to exceed expectations that makes a hotel great. It can be an incredibly beautiful property, but still not provide a GUEST experience that is memorable for the right reasons if the service ethos is not passionate and heartfelt.

“A hotel is ultimately only as good as its STAFF and we’re fortunate to have the best.
In the 2012 TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards 2012, Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Cape Town clinched second place in the “Trendiest Hotels in Africa” category, and five other Protea Hospitality Group hotels also made the top 20 list.
Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Cape Town was also voted 11th trendiest hotel in the world.
