August 2013: The Protea Hotels Sales TEAM has come out tops in the second annual Business Traveller Africa Awards that were announced in Sandton this week.
The objective is to reward excellence in South African business travel and to acknowledge those brands/entities that have performed consistently and with excellence over the past 12 months.
Protea Hotels Group Sales Director Charmaine Hardwick collected the award on behalf of her TEAM.
“It’s wonderful for Protea Hotels to be recognised in an Africa-wide award such as this, we didn’t think we were the best, but apparently we are. This recognition reinforces the sales efforts and customer service that each and every member of the sales TEAM gives 100% every day.
“This is not only an award for the company, but one earned by every sales person whether they’re working to promote a luxury property in Johannesburg or a new hotel in Nigeria.”
Protea Hospitality Group, Sales, Marketing & Revenue Director, Danny Bryer congratulated the sales TEAM on their award: “It takes a singular mindset, passion and drive to become a top sales TEAM and that’s exactly what we’ve got.

Research for the awards was conducted by independent company TNS Research Surveys, which interrogated channels across travel and hospitality to arrive at the winners in each category.
