NEW PROTEA BUSINESS HOTEL OPENS ALONG BUSY ROUTE

Protea Hotels has announced the opening of a new business hotel in Harrismith, Free State. Strategically located between Johannesburg and Durban, the Protea Hotel Montrose is positioned to cater for both the business and leisure markets, offering a three-star experience for travellers to rest and unwind. Recently opened by the Premier of the Free State, Beatrice Marshoff, the new hotel - costing in excess of R10 million - is the latest addition to the Protea Group’s business hotel portfolio, increasing its Free State presence.

Allan Duke, Group Marketing Services Director of Protea Hotels, says that the business hotel model is the ideal fit for the much-travelled stretch between the two cities. “We have already experienced tremendous success with this design in the groups’ Nelspruit and Mafikeng hotels and are confident that Protea Hotel Montrose will cater for both the seasoned business and leisure traveller commuting along this busy route.”

GUESTS of the Protea Hotel Montrose can expect accommodation comprising 24 rooms (including two executive suites), all elegantly furnished. The hotel is predominately designed to cater for its business market and offers meet-and-greet areas such as a bar and corporate lounge.  “Conference facilities are also currently under construction and are due for completion by November 2007,” says Duke. Technological capabilities include full WI-FI Internet access – designed to make local and international business communication fast and effective.

Additional amenities include room service meals and a 24-hour convenience store and petrol station to ensure commuting continues safely. Various leisure activities unique to the area include golf, trout fishing and mountain trails.
