The best old car show in the country - 12 & 13 February 2011The Midas George Old Car Show is known the best classic car show in South Africa attracting over 900 classic, hot rod and modified cars from across the country. Part of the charm of the show is its location at the PW Botha College on York Str (the main entrance route into George) with the Outeniqua Mountains serving as a backdrop for rows upon rows of these inspiring machines. Now in its 15th year, this popular show is organized by the Southern Cape Old Car Club with the proceeds going to local charities. The show is aimed at the whole family and, aside from visitors having the rare opportunity to relive their own history and the history of these amazing old cars, other activities include a car parade, ‘Arts in the Park’, military vehicles, motor dealers, motor-related stalls, food stalls, beer garden and the Protea Hotels VIP tent. Date: Saturday, 12 February 2011For the first time in the George Old Car Show’s 15-year history, the most exciting events of the weekend will be the Protea Hotels Classic Car Charity Auctions. Protea Hotels and Aucor have partnered to bring you high-energy auction action at the Midas George Old Car Show and an exclusive charity auction dinner at Protea Hotel King George, on the Saturday of the show. Venue: Midas George Old Car Show, PW Botha College, York StreetTime: 13h00Not wanting to exclude anyone from this high-energy action, Protea Hotels and Aucor have decided to take the auction to the public by holding it at the Midas George Old Car Show on the Saturday of the show. Expect a wide variety of only the finest vintage, collector, muscle and speciality vehicles at the auction, which will be handled by Aucor. With over 40 years of industry experience, both sellers and bidders will be in the capable hands of a company that has earned the reputation as Africa’s auction authority.
