This little village has a rich history dating back to the origins of mankind. It is situated in the heart of the countryside within the southern hills of the Magaliesburg Mountain Range. The Krugersdorp Railway Museum, just a few kilometres outside Magaliesburg, offers the experience of olden times travelling with their collection of 90 steam engine locomotives, which just happens to be the largest of its kind in South Africa. Rare items such as steam cranes or the more ordinary such as steam rollers are all on display at this remarkable museum. The pictures on the walls tell a story of the history of travel and add to the ambience of the museum.
The museum also offers and coordinates tours on the Magaliesburg Express Fun Train.
