Limpopo

Named for the Limpopo River flowing along its northern border, the Limpopo province of South Africa offers a wealth of historical and cultural treats, spectacular scenery and wildlife safaris. Limpopo is South Africa’s northern most province, and borders onto Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana – a gateway province into southern Africa! From Highveld grassland savannahs to majestic mountain ranges to lush subtropical forests, you’ll find a touch of Eden in the Limpopo province.

Climate

Limpopo enjoys hot, yet pleasant, summers and dry winters. With almost year-round sunshine, it can get very hot in summer – temperatures can rise up to the 30s Celsius! Summer is October to March.

Attractions

See the Big Five in the northern Kruger National Park. Luxuriate in the natural hot mineral springs at Bela-Bela (formerly Warmbaths) – a fun destination for the whole family. Get off the beaten track in the Waterberg Mountains, a rich cultural and traditional South African heritage, where artefacts date back to Stone Age times.
