Kruger National Park Established in 1898, The Kruger National Park serves as protector to the animals of the South African Lowveld. The park has grown in fame and facilities and is now one of the top reserves in the world. At a size of nearly 2 million hectares, it's the largest game park in South Africa. The Kruger National Park has a well-maintained system of roads for you to explore. There are waterholes, hides, picnic sites and rest camps. The park mostly functions as a self-drive area, giving you the opportunity to enjoy nature's finest at your own pace. The climate is extremely agreeable: hot summers and dry winters. With an incredible collection of game and other animals, birds, flora and fauna, the Kruger National Park is a visual feast. It has 147 mammal species, which includes the Big Five and other game, as well as 114 species of reptile, 34 amphibian, 507 bird, 49 fish and 336 species of trees. You can also see ancient Bushman rock paintings and other archaeological sites. Accommodation to suit any pocket is available. Rest camps include huts, safari tents, bungalows, family cottages and luxury guest houses, and bush lodges and bushveld camps are also available. |
