It’s scintillating Sunday SocieTEA at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice!

Saturday night is dead and gone, all the evidence has been deleted from Facebook and a civilised Sunday beckons.

Civilised can only mean one thing if you run with the cool crowd and that’s enjoying the best of High SocieTEA  at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice!, which lays on a feast fit for a king (and several queens!) that overflows with scrumptious sandwiches, decadent cream-lashed scones and devilishly divine fairy cakes.

As summer blossoms in the Mother City, Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Cape Town is presenting a stylish SocieTEA high tea that will be served poolside from 2pm on Sundays in the airy and relaxing adjoining lounge.

For the movers and shakers who are always on the go there’s the In & Out Afternoon Tea which includes a range of speciality teas, coffee and hot chocolate served with two choices of the decadent cakes of the day, milktart, peppermint tart, brownies or cheesecake.

If your aim is to chill, though, try the Tier for Two filled with savoury selections and sweet confections that include pancakes, sandwiches and cake, cake, cake!

A Tier for One is also available, but the Sunday rock star menu item has to be the Full House that consists of scrumptious delicacies and savoury splendours – all washed down with a glass of bubbly! Treats include scones with cream and chocolate-caviar, mama’s koeksisters, cakes of the day, homemade quiche, mini croissants with mozzarella, tomato and pesto, a variety of sandwiches, crostinis topped with caprese & basil salsa, chocolate fondue and Cape cheeses, to name but a few.

Jozi peeps needn’t worry about being left out of the city’s coolest Sunday SocieTEA decadence because from 2pm Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Melrose Arch also offers an afternoon feast.

The ultra-chic urban hotel’s restaurant is the place to find the veritable banquet that includes scrumptious mini smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels, chocolate pancakes stuffed with orange and mint syrup, cakes and cupcakes.
