HOT NEW LOOK FOR PROTEA HOTEL HAZYVIEW
The Protea Hotel Hazyview has undergone a multi-million rand revamp and is due to open its doors this week to reveal its new finery.
Work on the hotel started in January this year.
The 87-room hotel in Mpumalanga just 15 minutes’ drive from the Kruger National Park has had a total make-over of both public spaces and all rooms. The theme has been changed from bush-orientated pinks, browns and dark reds to a fresh straw, cream, tan and chocolate blend with a mix of rough textures and velvet. The artwork is lively and fresh, incorporating floral images from the hotel’s garden.
The rooms are freshly painted, with new carpets, fans, headboards, bathrooms and LCD flat screen TVs. There is also a new paraplegic room and a new inter-leading room.
In the public areas the hotel has new furniture in dark wood and leather, and the revamped bar has been named Nyathi – Swazi for buffalo.
The Protea Hotel Hazyview is an extremely family-friendly hotel with a children’s play park and a flexible children’s menu, coupled with spacious rooms.
Additional facilities include conference venues and a games room. Nearby attractions are the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Pilgrims Rest and many others. For the fun-loving, exciting adventures like hot air balloon rides, river rafting, quad biking and many more can be arranged. GUESTS may also experience open vehicle safaris in search of Africa's "Big Five" in the nearby Kruger National Park!
The Hospitality Property Fund-owned hotel is among 13 properties in the Protea Hotels portfolio that have undergone refurbishments in the past year.
Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, said the refurbishment of so many properties was part of the group’s plan to bring the hotels in line with modern standards and exceed the expectations of established and future GUESTS.
“We are the largest and leading hospitality group in Africa and as such all of the properties in the PHG portfolio are unique and superior,” said Bryer.
The company recently won the Sunday Times Generation Next coolest hotel award, and came second in the Top Brands award.
