Protea Hotel The Winkler, has undergone a R26.4 million refurbishment giving all 87 rooms a total overhaul. All bathrooms, bedrooms and public areas, including the restaurant, bar and lounge received a complete makeover, to ensure that this destination stays ahead of the times and at the cutting edge of comfort and convenience.

New facilities now available at the hotel include a brand new, state of the art conference centre accommodating up to 300 delegates, an on-site paintball course, that can be used for pure fun or  team building challenges and for the younger GUESTs a fully equipped Kidz zone.

The brand new Heron Conference Centre (completed In April 2009) and equipped with state of the art conference equipment can accommodate up to 300 delegates (cinema style)  in the main conference room, which alternatively can be divided into 3 smaller venues seating up to 60 delegates each.
